This deck's feature is that various types of birds play the main role character of each card of Major Arcana. It may be able to be called "birdificationate"; Every bird is comically deformed and plays the role in a human-like posture, and by adding the creator's drawing style, so then this deck makes me feel as if I have a glimpse of the "wonderland".

I like also a deck that has the unique worldview like this. I think the unique worldview is one of charming pleasures of the tarot deck arranged the traditional one. The "Death" card of such a deck reflects concepts and thinking of the supervisor and the creator about the death. I look forward to feeling and receiving them.

On the "Death" card in this deck, a picture of the scene a bird masked a skull plays the role of the death god and flies in the sky is drawn.

This birdy death god is colored in black except for its face and not drawn its body line clearly. Because the skull-face has a beak-like part and the arm-like part that is collecting round things is shaped like a wing, it's just that I see it will be a bird. In the dark part that occupies more than half of the picture, patterns like flowing clouds are drawn in the darker color. And, on round things collected with a wing that is curved like an arm, faces distorted by pain and grief are drawn.

Though this is a deck having the theme like a fairy tale that is named "wonderland" with fake birds of the characters of the tarot, no, maybe it's because having the theme like a fairy tale, this picture is really unforgiving, I think. This death god is flying through the sky, faster than clouds are flowing, while giving the stolen lives and souls agony, and without stopping. If such a death god actually exists, there will be no peaceful place on earth.

However, if it is something like this death god, it may exist. For example, the war and weapon development, highly infectious diseases such as influenza and COVID-19, malicious informations that cause harmful rumors and discriminations; like these, unfortunately, there are many things that can hurt us. Also they are rapidly progressing without stopping like the death god of this picture.

Because various calamities have occurred with the progress of civilizations and cultures, maybe it will be impossible that we eliminate all of them. However, I think it is possible to keep them away. At least, we should make an effort for that.

This picture makes persons who watch or use it to remind such feelings and thinking, and it has been produced for hoping that, I think.

Death

　このデッキの特徴は、大アルカナの各カードの主役をさまざまな種類の鳥が演じていることです。「擬鳥化」とでも言いましょうか、どの鳥もデフォルメされた上で人間のような姿勢で演じており、作画担当者の作風と相まって、まさに「不思議の国」を垣間見ているかのようです。
　こういう独特な世界観を持つデッキも、私は好きです。伝統的なデッキをアレンジしたタロットの醍醐味の１つだと思っています。こういうデッキの「Death」には、監修者や作画担当者が抱く死についての概念や思いが反映されます。それを拝見するのも楽しみです。
　このデッキの「Death」の絵は、髑髏の顔をした鳥が死神を演じ、飛翔する場面です。
　この鳥の死神は、顔以外は黒く、ボディラインがきちんと描かれていません。髑髏の顔に嘴のような部分があることと、丸いものをかき集めている腕のような部分が翼のような形になっていることから、鳥が演じていると判断できるだけです。画面の半分以上を占める黒っぽい部分には、さらに暗い色で流れる雲のような模様が描かれています。そして、腕のように湾曲している翼で集めている丸いものには、苦痛や悲嘆で歪む顔が描かれています。
　「不思議の国」と銘打ちタロットの人物たちを擬鳥化するというおとぎ話のようなテーマのデッキなのに、いえ、むしろおとぎ話のようなテーマだからこそというべきか、じつに容赦のない絵だと思います。この死神は雲が流れるよりも速く、奪ってきた命や魂に苦悶の表情をさせながら、止まることなく空を飛翔しているのです。現実にこんな死神がいたら、地上から平和な場所はなくなることでしょう。
　しかし、この死神のようなものなら、実在しているかもしれません。戦争や兵器の開発、インフルエンザや新型コロナのような感染力の高い感染症、風評被害や差別を生む悪意のこもった情報といった具合に、私たちを害しかねないものは残念ながら少なくありません。そしてそれらは、この絵の死神のように止まることなく急速に進み続けています。
　あらゆる災いは、文明や文化の進歩に伴って生まれるものもありますから、すべてをなくすことは不可能でしょう。けれど、遠ざけることはできるのではないでしょうか。少なくとも私たちはそのための努力をすべきです。
　この絵は、見る者、使う者にこうした気持ちや考えを想起させてくれますし、それを願って制作されたのだと思います。
