Magnolia stellata having overcome the bold pruning

This is a photo I took the magnolia stellata in my mother's garden in March 2021 when it began to bloom.
This tree lost many leafy branches in the autumn of the previous year because my mother pruned boldly.
"This tree might not bloom next spring..."
Even my mother who pruned it was thinking that, so inevitably its flowers reduced in number and seemed to become slightly smaller, but it bloomed beautifully as if it was rejoicing in the arrival of spring.
I was impressed by its vitality and captured its youthful and vivacious flower in this photo.

大胆な剪定を乗り越えたシデコブシ

これは、2021年３月、母の庭のシデコブシが開花し始めた時に撮影した写真です。
この木は前年の秋に、母の大胆な剪定により、葉が茂っている枝を多数失った木でした。
「もしかしたら、来春は花を咲かせないかもしれない」
剪定した母ですらそう案じていたのだけに、花は数を減らし、それぞれ少し小振りな印象でしたが、春を喜ぶかのように美しく咲きました。
その生命力に感動し、瑞々しい姿を写真に収めました。
