I, I can't stand losing...!

This is a photo of the orange daylily flower that bloomed in my mother's garden in early summer 2021.
The moment I saw it, some scenes came to my mind at the same time.
A scene where men on a crowded train say to each other, "don't push" and "you, too".
A scene where a boxer, while being stricken on his face, is striking in return, "I can never fall down!".
A scene where women scramble for products at the bargain corner, "I was aiming for this, don't steal!" and "the stealing one are you!".
All of them were the scene by people competing for something limited while crowded.
Neither the scenes I imagined nor the appearance of this flower and buds is hard to be said beautiful.
So, I thought that even if I shot this flower, no one would need it.
But, I couldn't help shooting it.
Because it told me that it was living so hard and with all its heart.
Even if no one need this photo, I have no regrets about shooting it.

ま、負けるものか…！

2021年初夏に母の庭に咲いたノカンゾウの花の写真です。
見た瞬間、同時にいくつかの場面が思い浮かびました。
「ちょ、押すなよ」「おまえこそ」という満員電車でのやりとり。
顔面にストレートを食らいながらも「倒れてたまるか！」とカウンターを繰り出すボクサー。
「これ私が狙っていたのよ、横取りしないで！」「そっちこそ！」とバーゲンコーナーで商品を奪い合う女性たちのやりとり。
いずれも、限られた何かを求めて犇めき競い合う人の様子でした。
私が思い浮かべた場面もこの花と蕾の様子も、美しいとは言い難いものです。
だから、撮影したところで需要があるとは思えませんでした。
しかし、撮らずにはいられませんでした。
だって、こんなに一生懸命に、しかも一心不乱に生きているのが伝わるんですもの。
需要がなくても、悔いはありません。
