Flowers of blackberry lily

This is one of photos I took when the blackberry lily that were growing naturally in my mother's garden began to bloom.
My mother said, this plant had not been planted or sowed by her, but had been growing naturally in her garden before she knew it.
My mother, who likes red color, had left this plant as it was because it blooms red flowers, then, it had spread in her garden here and there, she said with the bitter smile.
When we see this flower's wild pattern and know it is also called "leopard flower", we will be convinced the strength of its vitarity, right?

ヒオウギの花

母の庭に自生しているヒオウギが開花したので撮ったうちの１枚です。
この花は、母が植えたり種を蒔いたりしたものではなく、いつの間にか庭に生えるようになったのだとか。
赤色が好きな母は、赤い花が咲くからと放置していたそうですが、そうしたら庭のあちこちに広がってしまったのだと苦笑していました。
その生命力の強さは、この花の野性味のある模様を見たり「leopard flower」とも呼ばれていることを知ったら、納得できてしまいますよね。
