Flowers of the rice plant

One of what I wanted to shoot anyway in summer 2021 is this flowers of the rice plant.
Freshly headed rice ears stand upward without hanging their tips.
A pistil, which is exposed from each grain for pollination, looks like a little white thorn.
The rice plant flowers don't look like common ornamental flowers, and are rarely loved as a flower.
But, they are growing lively to bear fruits in autumn and look shining for me.

稲の花

この夏どうしても撮影したかったものの１つが、この稲の花です。
出穂したばかりの稲穂は、垂れずにピンと立っています。
そこについている粒からは受粉するための蕊が出ていて、白い小さな棘のように見えます。
稲の花は、一般的な花と似ておらず、花として愛でられることはほとんどありません。
しかし、秋の実りを目指して生き生きと輝いて見えるのです。
