Rice plants to be harvested soon part 1

This is one of photos I took at Sakaori Tanada (terraced paddy fields) in autumn 2021.
I saw the leaves were green and thought it would be a little later to harvest rice, but I noticed that farmers had just begun to harvest rice in an another paddy field a little distance away.
So then, looking closely, I saw the rice ears had turned to a ripe color and their tips were hanging and guessed this rice was probably a variety whose leaves don't turn yellow before it's fully ripe.
Also, I thought that in the case of terraced paddy fields, it might be easier to harvest rice plants of these varieties that don't lie down even when ripe than those that do.
I took this photo while thinking about that.

収穫間近な稲 その１

2021年秋の坂折棚田で撮影した写真の内の１枚です。
葉がまだ緑色なので稲刈りはもう少し先かと思いましたが、少し離れた田で収穫がちょうど始まったところでした。
よく見れば、稲穂は熟した色に変わって先が垂れ下がっていますし、この稲は完熟前に葉が黄色くならない品種なのでしょう。
それに、棚田ではこういう熟しても稲が倒れない品種のほうが稲刈りしやすいのかもしれません。
そんなことを考えながらシャッターを切りました。
